Description
This listing is for a captive bred Marimo moss ball, Cladophora. Marimo is a rare growth form of Aegagropila linnaei in which the algae grow into large green balls with a velvety appearance. The species can be found in a number of lakes and rivers in Japan and Northern Europe. These are easy, low maintenance aquatic plants perfect to grow in a vase on the windowsill or for your aquarium! Simply change the water of the vessel once a week and keep them in indirect, bright light and watch them thrive, they can mature to be the size of a basketball, but are incredibly slow growing! You are purchasing a young plant that is 0.25inch (0.6cm) in size.
These plants are produced in captivity and have zero contact with the invasive Zebra mussel (Dreissena polymorpha) that plague imported marimo; and are of no threat to our ecosystems.
